My friends,
I’m just popping on here to wish you, very importantly, a Happy New Year and to thank you for your support and lovely company throughout 2023. But it’s impossible for me to have any sort of conversation without mentioning food, so I just have to tell you some of the recipes I’ll be cooking for ballast, comfort and joy over the coming days in case you feel like joining me from your own home!
First on the list is the Italian Sausages and Lentils though truly any sausages would be lovely here. And then — be not afraid of beige food! — there’s the quiet charm of my Soupy Rice with Celeriac and Chestnuts as well as the more rambunctious allure of my Butternut and Sweet Potato Curry. (And if you’re doing Veganuary, you should certainly put it on your list, too, along with the divinely warming Moroccan Vegetable Pot with Couscous.)
For symbolic reasons, I also like to start off the New Year with a sweet note, so am hurtling greedily towards the dark deliciousness of Sticky Toffee Pudding and advise you strongly to follow suit!
