I'm not suggesting that you spend St Valentine's Day bound to the stove; the lazy, greedy approach - which for me would mean much lolling about with a box of salted caramels - always works.
But for me the whole point of any festival is how one celebrates it in the kitchen at the table, and these are my ideas: Love Buns (yes, obvious, but that's surely the point, and do choose the quicker route and just dollop jam and whipped cream rather than making Mr Whippy style icing if you prefer) and to continue on the deliciously obvious route, white chocolate and passion fruit mousse and for a simply sensual supper, take your pick from scallops on the shell, Spaghetti Carbonara and Flash Fried Steak.
If food be the music of love, cook on!
