I have had such a glorious time in San Francisco (but then, it would be hard not to) culminating in a fabulous dinner at my all-time favourite, the Zuni Cafe. I managed to take in their signature Caesar Salad, an incredible farro (think wholegrain barley, taste-wise) soup with kale and white beans, their wood-fired roast chicken spectacular and a spot of kumquat ice cream with their flourless chocolate cake.
I can't wait to come back, not just to the Zuni Cafe and all the other glorious other places to eat in this fabulous food town, but just to San Francisco in general. But before I go, I wanted to show you this picture from the Italian part of the city: it seemed appropriate for an Italian-themed book tour! And it's just so charming.
Now I'm off to Toronto - another great food centre, although I fear (as ever) eating opportunities are few and far between!
It's been record-breakingly hot in San Francisco and apparently it is -11 in Toronto! Still, I can take the cold, it's the sun I'm no good at! And besides, I love Toronto whatever the weather!
