Spring Has Not Yet Sprung

Posted by Nigella on the 5th February 2009

Spring has not yet sprung – certainly not in the UK, in any case – but since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I feel I can indulge myself, and I hope you too, with a medley of food-related goodies. I'm not the most sentimental of people but if food is involved, I can be as teary and breathlessly involved as the next person. You don't need to be in the first flush of romance to consider yourself part of this pink-tinted festival of hearts. If indeed you just fancy a little treat for yourself, let alone for your putative sweetheart, click here on my Valentine's Day Special. It's by no means a comprehensive list – there is a plethora of goodies out there - but they are all things that have won me over, so hopefully you will find some inspiration, too. And if you fancy cooking up a sweet treat in your own kitchen, we'll be featuring Love Buns as Recipe of the Day on the 14th.

Speaking of recipes, a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Recipes section. Please carry on contributing: it's what makes this all special whatever the date. Anyway, there's a wealth of dishes in there, to tempt all tastebuds, so do look around and add your favourites to your profile page, to make your own online cookbook

And thank you also to everyone who's filled in their profile page – it's very cheering to see so many photos brightening up the forum. If you haven't already added yours, it's easy to do – just nip into the Club Room, sign yourself in, and get uploading! In my head, I call it my "feedyourfacebook"; in my heart, I'm pleased for every new entry I see. Nigella.com welcomes you and is happy to have you on board. Keep it coming!
