Fry onion and garlic in oil over a low heat till the onions are soft and translucent. add dried spices and continue to fry for 1 minute.place all contents into a large enough saucepan. Fry the minced meat in the same pan the onion mixture was fried in until it turns brown, then add to the onion mixture in the pan, add the tomatoes, Tabasco sauce or chilli sauce and kidney beans to the saucepan and cook on a moderate-low heat for 20-30 minutes stirring often. Taste for seasoning and add salt, pepper and tomato sauce, if using, as needed. serve with boiled rice, potato wedges or tortilla chips
Introduction
Hot and spicy chilli con carni, for people like me who dont like chillies. I like my chilli hot! but please adjust the spices according to your pallet. This is possibly the cheapest version of a chilli con carni you'll ever find, and left overnight in the fridge, it's even better the next day

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium chopped finely onion
- 4 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 tin plum tomatoes (a large tin, whole or chopped)
- 1 tin kidney beans (a large tin)
- 1 teaspoon hot curry powder
- 2 teaspoons hot chili powder
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 splash of tabasco (a good splash, or hot chill sauce)
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce (optional)
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
