Good simple & quick recipe with a good result thank-you. Also your use of CUPS rather than weights makes it easier for unprofessionals like me. I modified it a bit- used 75% wholemeal flour & 25% white- I really don't like white (processed not natural) all the fibre is refined out and much higher glycemic load and scones taste much nicer to me. But I used 25% to make the scones a BIT lighter. I had to use 25% extra baking powder to offset the heaviness of the wholmeal too and a TEAspoon of brown sugar for my sweet tooth. The oil I used was sunflower- quantity you specified and the egg was organic and free range of COURSE!
These scones were the lightest and fluffiest I've tastest.
Looking for a quick breakfast dish, on a lazy Saturday morning! It was one of those days! Had not done any shopping on Friday night, over slept on Saturday, with a bad case of the munchies, checked the lader, found a lone egg, no bacon, frozen sausages. What to do! Google directed me here - have tried many many scone recipes before however, needless to say one Bite and hooked. Best recipe for a scone ***** five stars all round. Thanks.
