Ingredients

Serves: This makes lots! It keeps fine

Metric Cups
  • ⅞ kilogram granulated sugar
  • 397 grams condensed milk Or 1 tin
  • 113 grams unsalted butter
  • ⅛ litre milk
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
  • 2 pounds granulated sugar
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk Or 1 tin
  • 4 ounces unsalted butter
  • ⅕ pint milk
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

Method

  • Put all ingredients into big pot except vanilla extract .
  • Simmer for 45mins-1 hour.
  • Stir now and again.
  • Boil for few mins.
  • Add vanilla extract.
  • Take off heat.
  • Using electric whisk, beat until thicker (this takes about 5mins or so). Pour into brownie type tray until set.
  • Set in hour or so - cut into squares.
