Boil potatoes with pinch of salt and pepper for however long it takes. Simmer zuurkool for 10 minutes, if not enough juice in jar then add some water, enough to cover most of it. When potatoes ready make a yummy mash with butter and milk until nice and creamy. Then add the zuurkool and flavour. Go easy on the salt as zuurkool can be salty on its own. Serve with sausage and a knob of butter melting on the zuurkool. Enjoy!
Introduction
A traditional Dutch dish, with potatoes and white cabbage served with a good chunky smoked sausage. Best served on cold winter days. The flavour really comes out if you reheat it a day after in a frying pan with a small knob of butter. I hope you enjoy this dish, I absolutely love it, I have been raised on this meal! However I know some that are not keen on it but give it a go!
