The Simple 'Throw-It-All-Together' Chocolate Cake

Pre-heat the oven at gas mark 3, 170ºC,325ºF and grease 2 cake tins. Sieve the flour and baking powder. Add the sugar, margarine and eggs. Mix with an electric whisker. Add vanilla essence and unsweetened cocoa. Mix again. Scoop the mixture evenly into the greased tins and place them in the oven for 15 to 20 mins. For a plain sponge use 4 eggs and miss out the unsweetened cocoa.
Introduction
This simple cake is perfect to do in large batches and tastes great. You can make the cake as 'chocolatey' as you like and is just as good as a plain sponge cake.

- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 5 ounces unsweetened cocoa (according to taste)
