Mix butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and syrup to an airy dough, Chop the almonds quite finely. Mix together flour and bicarbonate of soda. Add to the dough along with the almonds and mix well. Divide dough into four and make "ribbons" of about the thickness of a finger. Place on a baking plate and flatten slightly with a fork. Pre-heat oven to 175 degrees Celsius and bake for ca 10 minutes. Cut into pieces while the biscuits still have some heat.
