  • 10 tablespoons icing sugar (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • food colouring (or flavourings of choice)
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 4 ounces vegetable shortening (such as Crisco)
  • 10 tablespoons confectioners' sugar (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    depending on the temperature of the room, i sometimes put the cream in fridge first before for more firmness for pipping. if made beforehand, cover the cream with clingwrap and put in room temperature for bout 10 mins then whip for bout 2 mins again to make sure there is no lumps.
