Preheat oven to gas mark 4 (180C). Lightly grease a baking tray. Put the butter, syrup and sugar into a pan and heat gently until just melted. Do not let the mixture boil. Remove the pan from the heat and sift in the self raising flour, the ground ginger and the bicarbonate of soda. Stir until blended and smooth. Divide the mixture into 6/8 pieces and place on baking tray allowing space between each one. Bake for 10 minutes.

I love the taste of ginger biscuits, finally i have found the perfect recipe:) I made smaller pieces, I think this recipe is enough for 16 biscuits.
