Ingredients

Serves: -

Metric Cups
  • 1 can evaporated milk (light)
  • 400 millilitres water
  • 100 grams cane sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (rind)
  • 6 cloves
  • 100 millilitres Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 handful raisins
  • 1 can evaporated milk (light)
  • 14 fluid ounces water
  • 3½ ounces cane sugar
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 lemon (rind)
  • 6 cloves
  • 4 fluid ounces Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 handful raisins

Method

Amaretto and Raisin Ice Cream is a community recipe submitted by kaje and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Soak raisins in amaretto.
  • In a pan put in water, sugar, cinnamon stick, lemon rind and cloves. Simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, cool a bit and strain.
  • Add milk.
  • Pour it in a glass or stainless steel bow, and freeze for 45 mins. Mix with a fork and stir in the strained amaretto. Pour mixture in your ice cream maker according to your instructions.
  • Just before it is ready put in the raisins.
