Ingredients

Serves: serves 1

Metric Cups
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ginger
  • garlic puree
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds (finely chopped)
  • chilli (as per taste)
  • 2 teaspoons onions (finely chopped)
  • 1½ teaspoons fresh coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • salt (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch of turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon fresh gingerroot
  • garlic puree
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin seeds (finely chopped)
  • chile (as per taste)
  • 2 teaspoons onions (finely chopped)
  • 1½ teaspoons cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • salt (to taste)

Method

The Real Indian Masala Omelete is a community recipe submitted by Kams and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl & beat till well mixed.
  • The powdered masalas shouldn't be clumpy... they should mix well.
  • Heat the oil in an omelet pan & when hot enough, add the contents of the bowl. cook through, flipping occasionally.
  • Burning it slightly only enhances the flavour.
  • Plate & serve with crusty / soft bakers bread ... Enjoy !

    You can add tomatoes to the mix but make sure they are firm & de-seeded... any excess water ruins the flavour ...
