Heat the cranberries and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries just begin to pop. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for a scant minute longer. You don't want to make cranberry sauce, just an amalgamation. Take off the heat and put into sterilized jars, or spread over Christmas morning muffins. Also nice as a Pavlova topping.
