Ingredients

Serves: -

Metric Cups

For the Pastry

  • 100 grams butter
  • 75 millilitres caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 300 millilitres plain flour

For the Filling

  • 500 grams quark
  • 200 millilitres creamy milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 millilitres caster sugar
  • ½ juice of lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

For the Topping

  • 3 apples
  • cinnamon

For the Pastry

  • 4 ounces butter
  • 2⅝ fluid ounces superfine sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 10½ fluid ounces all-purpose flour

For the Filling

  • 18 ounces quark
  • 7 fluid ounces creamy milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 5¼ fluid ounces superfine sugar
  • ½ juice of lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar

For the Topping

  • 3 apples
  • cinnamon

Method

Apple Pie With Quark is a community recipe submitted by Kukka and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and beat well. Add the flour and mix until everything is mixed in well. Butter a round springform tin.
  • Press the dough onto the surface and about 3-4 cm up the sides of the tin.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the filling and pour the filling into the tin. Peel the apples and remove the seeds etc. Slice them and put on top of the filling. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Bake on the lowest shelf of the oven at 175 C for about 1 hour or until the filling has set.
  • Let cool and serve.
