Metric Cups
  • 500 grams fresh ginger (peeled)
  • 1 large apple (granny smith)
  • 250 millilitres sugar (dependent on taste)
  • 250 millilitres water
  • 18 ounces fresh gingerroot (peeled)
  • 1 large apple (granny smith)
  • 8⅘ fluid ounces sugar (dependent on taste)
  • 8⅘ fluid ounces water

Method

  • Roughly chop the ginger in a food processor. You need about 3/4 cup (185 ml) of ginger.
  • Chop the apple.
  • Place all in a saucepan with the sugar and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 30 - 45 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Pour into a sterilised jar and seal immediately.
