In a large, heavy bottom pot on medium heat, mix all ingredients. Cover, and bring to gentle boil. Continue stirring until smooth and thickened, approximately 45 minutes. Let cool. Store in air tight glass jars that are clean and dry. Label and use on toast or on pancakes. You can give away the extra jars as gifts.
