A braised pork tenderloin made with apples, bacon, honey and soy

Ingredients

Serves: 3

Metric Cups
  • 1 pork tenderloin
  • 2 onions (sliced)
  • 2 apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 250 millilitres chicken stock
  • 1 packet streaky bacon
  • 1 pork tenderloin

  • 9 fluid ounces chicken broth
  • 1 packet bacon

Method

Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin is a community recipe submitted by samd and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Season the tenderloin
  • Wrap it in the slices of streaky bacon so that every bit is covered.
  • Place the onions and apples and garlic in a Dutch oven with the soy sauce, honey and a little of the chicken stock.
  • Put the tenderloin on top of this and place it in a 350F oven for about 45 minutes.
  • Use the rest of the stock to top up the braising liquid as needed. I normally cook this closed fro the first 30 minutes and the take the lid off for the juices to reduce down a bit.
  • Remember that the time is a guideline because the different tenderloins and the different ovens will impact cooking time. They soy and honey you can increase as suits your palate... Samd
