Pork Chops in Creamy Sauce

Heat a tsp of oil or butter in a skillet and saute the garlic and mushrooms. Once the garlic and mushrooms are golden brown, lay the pork chops on the pan and brown each side. If you trimmed the fat off the pork, add a tablespoon of oil to avoid burning the garlic. However, if you kept the fat on the pork, there is no need for more oil. If you want your pork well done, add 2 cups of water after you've browned the meat; cover the pan, and cook for 20 minutes or more over medium heat. Pour the cream of mushroom and simmer for 10 mins. (1 can is actually enough; but you can put 2 if you want lots of sauce like our household) Add the bell peppers and simmer for 2-3 minutes more. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

This dish is a regular in our home because the kids love it and its very budget-friendly.

Once I tried cooking the chops in white wine instead of water, and it made the dish more interesting.
