Cream the butter, sugars and vanilla essence together. Gradually add the lightly beaten egg, then mix in the sifted flour and salt. Add choc chips and walnut pieces. Mix together well. Shape into balls of dough and place on lightly greased tray. Allow space for spreading. Bake in pre-heated oven (180) for 10-12 minutes

- 15 fluid ounces self-rising flour

- 4⅖ ounces chocolate chips
- 2⅛ ounces walnuts (chopped)
