Heat your oven to 350F In the bowl of your mixer combine the butter and cream cheese on low speed until well blended. Add the sugar and egg yolk and mix until fluffy. Mix in the sifted flour and mix until combined. Do not over mix. Scoop out 1" pieces of the dough and roll into balls. Place on a parchment lined, or ungreased, cookie sheet. Press your thumb into the center of each cookie and fill with 1/2 teaspoon of preserves. Bake for 12-15 min, or until the bottom is golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool completely and roll the edges in powdered sugar, or sift the sugar over the top. Devour!
Introduction
This is a Christmas Cookie must-have at my house. They are almost like little teacakes, not too sweet and perfect along with some tea or coffee.

- 4 ounces softened cream cheese
- ½ cup sifted confectioners' sugar
- 1 medium egg yolk
- 1¼ cups sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ cup preserves (any flavour)
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
