  • 1 part vodka (preferably pepper vodka - you could also use white rum or gin)
  • 1 part soda water
  • cumin
  • dry mango powder (Amchur)
  • cloves
  • ground ginger
  • black salt
  • chopped mint
  • puri (ready-made)

  • Method: Blend all the ingredients together with the Vodka and stir in the mint leaves and refrigerate until guests arrive...
  • To Serve fill up the shot glass with the cold vodka and make a small hole in the puri and let your guests dip the puri in the vodka and enjoy the sting!!!
  • Additional Information

It can be bought from a local store, but the extra effort put in to make them at home is well worth the trouble. To make puri: 1 cup Semolina 1 tbsp Flour 1/4 tsp Baking Soda Oil to deep fry Method: Mix sooji, maida, baking soda, salt and enough water to knead semi-soft dough. Cover with wet cloth for 15-20 minutes and make small sized balls and roll into 11/2 inch thin disks. Fry puris till they puff up and are crisp in hot oil (I usually press them down with the ladle in oil until they puff up). Drain in a paper towel for a while to dry out the oil. Store in an airtight container when cool.
