Grease a deep 9 " round cake pan.. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Arrange the cherries in the bottom of the pan. Mix all ingredients together. Pour the batter into pan after mixing well. Bake for 1 hour or till cooked, check with knife, if it comes out clean. Cool for few minutes.

- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar)
- 100 millilitres milk
- 9 ounces cherries (fresh)
- 3 ounces sugar
- 4 ounces all-purpose flour
- 4 ounces plain yogurt
- 1 ounce butter
- 3 ounces almond meal (or chopped)
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar)
- 3½ fluid ounces milk
