Moist Chocolate Cake

Preheat oven to 180C (350F). Butter and flour a cake mould (with hole in centre). In a double-boiler, melt 180g chocolate with the butter. Add hot water. Reserve. In a big bowl, beat eggs with sugar and vanilla. Reserve. In another bowl, mix together sour cream with baking soda. Reserve. In another big bowl, mix flour with unsweetened cocoa, baking powder and salt. Reserve. Add chocolate to egg mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix with wooden spoon until well incorporated. Add sour cream and the rest of the chocolate chopped. Pour in the prepared mould. Cook for 50 minutes. Unmold and let cool. Pour ganache on top of cake.
Bring cream to a boil. Put chocolate in a bowl and add hot cream, mix until chocolate is completely melted. Let cool slightly to thicken a little bit.
Introduction
I made this cake for my boyfriend's birthday and everybody loved it. It is really moist and rich.

- 8 ounces chopped semi-sweet chocolate
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup boiling water
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
For the Ganache
- ½ cup cream
- 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
