Can you make the Chocolate Guiness Cake with gluten-free flour?

Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake (from FEAST) is a popular cake that is easy to make as it uses the "melt and mix" method and uses just one large saucepan for mixing. We have not tried the cake with gluten-free flour as Guinness itself is not gluten free and so it is not possible to make a gluten-free version of the cake. Guinness is brewed from a combination of toasted barley and malted barley. Barley is not gluten free as it contains gliadin, the protein that usually causes a reaction in coeliacs and people who are gluten intolerant.
If you are looking for a moist gluten-free cake then we would suggest trying Nigella's Chocolate Olive Oil Cake, made with ground almonds (almond meal) or the Chocolate Tahini Banana Bread, which is made with rice flour.
