For the Cornbread Topped Chilli Con Carne recipe can I cook it without the cornbread? And then do I have to put it in the oven?

Nigella's Cornbread Topped Chilli Con carne (from FEAST) is a beef chilli that is baked with a cornbread crust on top. It is possible to make the chilli without the crust and if you do this then you can serve the chilli at step 3, without baking it in the oven.
If you make the chilli in advance and refrigerate it overnight then you can return it to the pan for reheating. Reheat on the stove over a low heat, stirring occasionally. Make sure that the chilli is piping hot all of the way through before serving. If you don't make the cornbread then you may like to consider serving the chilli with baked potatoes or lots of tortilla chips instead.
