Making Simply Nigella Bundt Cakes
Asked by AnnaJM. Answered on 29th June 2016
Full question
I love Nigella's Spruced Up Vanilla Cake as it can be made quickly in the food processor. Can the three new bundt cake recipes in Simply Nigella be likewise made in the food processor?
Our answer
In SIMPLY NIGELLA there is a trio of bundt cakes - Pumpkin Bundt Cake, Cider and 5-Spice Bundt Cake and Thyme and Lemon Bundt Cake. The Thyme and Lemon cake is made with butter and if you wanted to make this cake in a food processor then you would follow the same method as for the Spruced-Up Vanilla Cake (from NIGELLA CHRISTMAS). This is an easy all-in-one way of making both of these cakes.
The Pumpkin and Cider And 5-Spice Bundts are made with oil and are simply beaten together, which can be done easily by hand. So these cakes don't really need any electric gadgetry. The Pumpkin Bundt could be made in a food processor, though it would need to be one with a large capacity. For the Cider and 5-Spice Bundt we would be a little cautious as if the cider still contains some fizz then the cake batter may froth up a bit too much in the confines of a food processor bowl.
