Our answer

Nigella's Quadruple Chocolate Loaf Cake (from FEAST) is a rich and sticky chocolate cake. It is baked in a loaf pan and for the UK the size is usually referred to as a 900g or 2 lb loaf pan. However there is no standard size for 1 and 2 lb loaf pans and we have found that the descriptions and dimensions can vary, so we try to give the dimensions as well as this can help with finding an appropriately sized pan.

The dimensions are approximately 21 x 11 x 7.5cm or 9½, x 4½, x 3 inches (length x width x depth - internal dimensions). In the UK and Europe you can buy pans that are close to this size on the internet and in some supermarkets and cake decorating stores. In the US we believe that the closest size is probably a 1.5-pound loaf pan. These are available in many places, or try Nordic Ware or USA Pan and other on-line suppliers.
