Full question
Hello, I would like to make Nigella's Parmesan Shortbreads as Christmas presents. How long do they keep for? Many thanks, Lucy
Our answer
Nigella's Parmesan Shortbreads (from NIGELLISSIMA) are crumbly savoury biscuits that are perfect with pre-dinner drinks or cocktails. The shortbreads are best warm, or fairly freshly made, as they virtually melt in the mouth and are very moreish. The dough can be made 3 days ahead, stored in the fridge and then sliced and baked at the last minute.
The shortbreads will keep for up to 5 days in an airtight container so we would suggest baking them the night before or on the day you are going to give them. The baked shortbreads can also be frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 months, so you may like to include some storage instructions with your gift.
