Full question
The Luscious Vegan Gingerbread is so tasty! What can I serve with the cake if I want to use it as a dessert?
Our answer
Nigella's Luscious Vegan Gingerbread (from COOK, EAT, REPEAT) is good on its own with a cup of tea of coffee, or can be served as a dessert. Nigella suggests serving it almost as a sticky toffee pudding, with a toffee sauce or drizzled with date molasses. Alongside you can add a dollop of oat-milk creme fraiche, but if this isn't available where you live then you could also serve it with any plant-based cream that you prefer, either whipped or just in pouring form.
A sprinke of pomegranate seeds is seasonal at this time of year and a good foil to the sweet gingerbread. Poached pears also go well with gingerbread, and you can follow the pear poaching instructions in Nigella's recipe for Pears Belle Helene.
