Here is my take on Nigella’s Hot Cross Buns recipe. I tried to stick to the recipe, with small additions and a slight change. I have a 50+ years old sourdough I inherited, and I am feeding it since 5 years. So precious for me. Her name is Elly. So I used my sourdough Elly’s discard in this recipe, also added 1/3 cup of sugar with 4 grams yeast to feed my sourdough discard. Also used strong Red Wheat Flour (Kind of Spelt) of Anatolia, my country. The Red Cross Buns came out beautiful, delicious and healthy. In the end, I made a glaze of homemade orange jam to give a shiny look also to complete the taste of candied orange peels. Thank you for the opportunity. Hoping to have a signed book.
