I made Nigella’s Vanilla Cake as a centre piece for the Christmas dessert table. I had never made a flour buttercream before so was a little skeptical but pleasantly surprised by just how delicious it was. It required a little more patience to achieve a smooth finish but holds up beautifully. I finished with fresh cherries, rosemary trees and a dusting of icing sugar for a festively snowy finish.
