I gave a quote for this book when it came out, but it occurs to me that Cookbook Corner was dormant then, so I failed to bring it to your attention. I apologise for this major oversight. I’ve worked with Rob Allison over the years and eaten his food: I was a fan long before the book came out. And it is truly a brilliant idea: accessible, eat-me recipes for takeaway food and gastropub and restaurant classics. If you fancy making Onion Bhajia, Sweet and Sour Pork Balls or Chicken Katsu, you will find elevated versions of these — and more — in the book. I’ve chosen a beautiful Slow-Cooked Lamb Biriyani for you. I know there are a lot of spices needed, but very little effort is required to make it. And it makes me hungry just looking at it.
