Preheat over to 150c/300f/Gas Grease a 900g loaf tin and line with grease proof paper In a medium non-stick pan, gently heat the butter, sugar and chocolate until melted. Stir well and remove from the heat. Add the banana and eggs, then sift in the flour and baking powder. Mix to a smooth, thick batter. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin. Bake for 1 hour until the cake has risen and feels firm in the centre when light pressed with your fingertips. Remove from the oven and cool in the tin then turn out on to a wire rack to cool completely

This is one of my regular cakes, I make it about once a month. It's lovely and moist and great with a splash of cream.
