Preheat the steamer. Beat the butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy. Add in the egg one at a time. Do not over beat because it will make your cake dry. Add in the fruit jem or Kaya together with the milk and vanilla essence. Beat until all mixed and combined together. With a lower speed, add in the flour and the nestum baby cereal ( you can use oat too ) a bit at once. After the mixture's well combined, drop some green color. Grease the baking pan with butter and pour all the mixture in. Cover with aluminium foil. Steam for 3-4 hours. Do not open the steamer lid before 1 hour. It's better to check the water level after 2 hours and make sure you add hot water instead of cold water.
Introduction
This cake or 'kek' in Malay language is soo simple and easy to make. It is a steam based cake and using not so many ingredients in it.

- 9 ounces butter
- ¾ cup superfine sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup horlicks
- ½ cup nestum
- ½ cup kaya (or any fruit jam)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 drop green food colouring
