Ingredients

Metric Cups

For the Crust

  • 225 grams margarine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • 250 millilitres plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

For the Filling

  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 3 cans water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornflour
  • 2 medium eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 knob of butter
  • ground cinnamon

For the Crust

  • 8 ounces margarine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

For the Filling

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 cans water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 medium eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 knob of butter
  • ground cinnamon

Method

  • Cream sugar and margarine together, add egg, then flour and baking powder.
  • Divide into two round tin foil dishes and bake at 180 until brown. About10 minutes.
  • Filling: mix condensed milk, 3 tins water and sugar together and bring to boil.
  • Mix cornflour, eggs, vanilla essence, and beat into the condensed milk.
  • Put back on stove until thick, keep beating so it does not go lumpy, and add the butter.
  • Divide into the two dishes and sprinkle with cinnamon.
