Ingredients

Serves: 4-6

Metric Cups

For the Mass

  • 1 kilogram potatoes
  • 125 millilitres milk
  • 125 millilitres whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • salt

For the Filling

  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 200 grams whipping cream (or cream cheese)
  • salt

For the Mass

  • 2⅕ pounds potatoes
  • 4 fluid ounces milk
  • 4 fluid ounces heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • salt

For the Filling

  • 17⅔ ounces ground beef
  • 7 ounces heavy cream (or cream cheese)
  • salt

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients for the mass until you have a soft puree.
  • Fry the ground meat with onion, garlic, then add the whipping cream or cream cheese.
  • Put half of the mass in a pie tin.
  • Put in the filling and the rest of the mass. Spread egg yolks over the mass and a little bit of grated parmesan.
  • Put in the oven to gratin.
