HEAT OIL IN PAN, ADD BACON/SAUSAGE, ONION AND GARLIC AND SAUTÉ UNTIL GOLDEN. REDUCE HEAT , ADD SEASONINGS, TOMATO, TOMATO PASTE AND BEANS. SIMMER UNCOVERED FOR 15 MINUTES. ADD GREEN PEPPER AND SIMMER FOR 10 MINUTES STIRRING FREQUENTLY. SERVE WITH RICE AND LOTS OF FRESH SALAD FOR A COMPLETE PROTEIN, LOW CHOLESTEROL MEAL. IF THE SAUSAGE IS COOKED ADD IT LAST.

- 1 stock cube (meat or veg)
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ teaspoon mexican chilli powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried sweet basil
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 can kidney beans (drained)
- ½ teaspoon green pepper (chopped)
