Italo-German Sauteed Potatoes
A community recipe by HannaBerlinNot tested or verified by Nigella.com
Introduction
The minute I discovered that you can fry gnocchi I started using them as an instant carb hit for the times when all the peeling, chopping and boiling of fresh potatoes seems too much to bear. Feel free to substitute them for leftover boiled potatoes or leftover pasta. This is satisfyingly rich and perfect either as a hangover cure or an easy dinner when you feel like you need the most nutritious and calming food you can find. Fun fact: In German a rather similar dish to this (containing potatoes, onions, eggs and ham) is called "Bauernfruhstuck" (farmer's breakfast) and sauteed potatoes with scrambled eggs mixed in are very common.
