Melt margarine and syrup then add to dry ingredients. Mix well. Press into a 36 cm x 25 cm x 2 cm baking tray and bake at 180 C for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into squares while still hot.

Serves: 48
- 2 cups quick-cooking oats
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 7 ounces butter (or margarine)
- 5 baking soda
- 15 golden syrup or light corn syrup
- 1 pinch of salt
