Eggless Biscuits

Introduction

This is from my Mum and is a very old recpe hence the once measurement.

Ingredients

Serves: 12

  • 4 cups flour
  • 6 ounces butter
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt

Method

  • Set oven to 500 degrees F (+- 250 degrees C)
  • Rub butter well into flour, add pinch of salt. Put milk, sugar and bicarb into a pot on stove on medium heat and stir occasionally.
  • When frothy remove from stove and add to first mixture. Form dough and roll out to desired thickness and cut with cookie cutters and place on baking tray.
  • Bake for 5 minutes but do keep an eye on them as they burn easily.
