My Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookies

Preheat oven 180 degrees Celsius. Cream together butter, sugars and vanilla. Add egg and beat well. Mix in sifted flour and salt. Add the chocolate chips and almonds then mix well. Shape teaspoonfuls of mixture into small balls, place on baking sheet lined with baking paper. You can usually fit about 12 a sheet. Bake in an oven for 10-12 minutes.

I love these cookies. They're the best ones I've found so far in my search for the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Makes 36.

- 4 ounces unsalted butter
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 lightly beaten egg
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 ounces chocolate chips
- 2 ounces almonds (slivered)
