Introduction

A Mexican dessert/sweet snack that will leave you hogging the bowl. Incredible easy to make, it is good eaten hot or cold.

Ingredients

Metric Cups
  • 1 packet corn tortillas
  • 500 grams icing sugar
  • ground cinnamon (plenty for frying)

  • 17⅔ ounces confectioners' sugar

Method

  • Cut each tortilla into half then quarters then eighths. ie each tortilla should have 8 pizza shaped triangles.
  • Heat oil and deep fry 4 wegdes at a time till golden brown and crispy. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Per 8 wedges, mix 1/2 cup icing sugar and 1tsp ground cinnamon in the brown freezer bag. While still warm add the wedges and, while holding the bag closed, give it a good shake to cover all the wedges.
  • Tip out into a big bowl or platter. Repeat untill all the wedges are done.
