Sift all dry ingredients into a bowl. Grate in butter and cheese and mix with a fork to break down butter and cheese. Add milk with the fork and then knead with your hands. Turn scone mix onto floured work top and roll to about 2cm thick. Either use a cutter or knife to get approx 8 scones. Brush with milk. Preheat oven to 200 c and bake for approx 10 - 15 mins or until golden brown.

A wonderful recipe! I used Parmesan cheese instead of cheddar and topped with home-made cumquat marmalade.
They didn't rise very high, even though I did follow the recipe exactly. But they tasted lovely! Worth making. Very fluffy and light.
